Loading Dock Supervisor Job Description

At Careericq, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Loading Dock Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the loading dock area, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment, and supervising a team of loading dock associates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of loading dock associates, ensuring timely and accurate loading and unloading of goods.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Develop and implement schedules, performance metrics, and training programs for loading dock associates.
  • Manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods, including scheduling and coordinating with vendors and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including those related to hazardous materials and waste management.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including maintenance and engineering, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including special projects and tasks.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a receiving or warehouse environment, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes in priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Working Conditions:

The Loading Dock Supervisor will work in a fast-paced warehouse environment, with frequent exposure to noise, weather, and other environmental elements. The position requires the ability to lift, push, and move equipment and furniture, as well as sit and stand for extended periods. The supervisor will also be required to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends, as needed.
