Job Title: Power Automation Systems Engineer

Join The New IEM, Llc as a Power Automation Systems Engineer and take on the challenge of designing and implementing power automation systems that drive business growth and efficiency.

Job Summary:

As a Power Automation Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of power automation systems, including control systems, monitoring, and data acquisition. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate current and new technologies, optimize existing systems, and ensure seamless operation across our system network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop power automation system operations, including control systems, monitoring, and data acquisition.
  • Lead and support the integration of new automation technologies with existing power system infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and performance.
  • Analyze system performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability of power control and communication systems.
  • Provide technical and troubleshooting support to the IEM field service team and customers for power automation systems, addressing and resolving issues onsite and remotely in a timely manner.
  • Assist in managing complex automation field service projects from concept through implementation, including scope definition, scheduling, technical resource allocation, parts procurement, system risk mitigation management, software setup, and configuration requirements.
Requirements:
  • BSEE or MSEE degree.
  • 5 years' experience as an electrical engineer.
  • 4 years' minimum experience working with power control systems, including PLCs, Protective relays, and HMI's.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License a Plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A strong desire to grow and develop with a passion for providing excellent customer service.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in automation programming languages and ladder logic (IEC, Python, Java, SQL, HTML).
  • Experience and proficient with industrial power system controls and monitoring technologies, including communication protocols (Modbus/TCP, OPC, DNP3, ARP, IoT, DHCP, HTTP, and IP).
  • Familiar and experience with the TCP/IP suite.
  • Experience with the utilization of Loop2k and Modscan.
  • Experience working with EPMS and BMS data center systems.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret engineering documents, codes, standards, and technical procedures.
  • Experience with power system controls engineering, including ATO programming in PLCs, Protective Relays, and HMI's.
  • Experience and proficient with the below products associated with the power system controls and monitoring in LV/MV switchgear (Breakers, Power Quality Meters, Protection Relays, Com-Modules, etc).
