Job Summary

This Senior Systems Engineer will work independently and under the direction of the Systems Engineering Manager and Team Lead. They must have excellent critical thinking skills and be a strategic thinker. They should be apt at assessing problems to understand the short- and long-term impacts.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience working as a Systems Engineer and have tactical knowledge in Azure, Office 365, Cisco UCS, OnBase, Tableau, OKTA, Netscaler, Citrix Hybrid Cloud, Nutanix, Nimble, Cohesity, Vmware, MoveIT, Card Wizard, Windows Server 2016-Current, PowerShell, RHEL 8.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drive innovation through continuous improvements in processes, systems, and policies.
  2. Own vendor relationships and work with account managers to ensure our technology investment is optimized.
  3. Lead and manage technology roadmaps.
  4. Provide senior-level support to junior team members, including training, encouragement, and helping junior team members grow their skills.
  5. Lead service incident and problem resolution efforts to support entrusted applications/products.
  6. Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as system design or maintenance.
  7. Consult with engineering staff to evaluate the interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements, or resolve customer problems.
  8. Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, including security, backup, and redundant strategies.
  9. Establish and maintain data in a Knowledge Management toolset to facilitate quicker diagnosis and resolution for future incidents.
  10. Establish or enhance systems automation using Group Policy, scripting, or tooling wherever possible.
  11. Consult with development teams to provide a shared technical direction and partner with those teams in elaborating the solution and its interfaces.
  12. Subject Matter Expert (SME) within own discipline/specialty area; basic knowledge of other disciplines/specialty areas.
  13. Evaluate new technologies to solve problems as needed, and also play a significant role in architectural direction.
  14. Analyze fault-tolerance and high availability issues, performance and scale challenges, and solve them.
  15. Solve challenging technical problems related to security, parallel and distributed systems, programming, resource management, large-scale system maintenance, and more.
  16. Participate in On-Call rotation 24x7 support schedule as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or Associates degree in computer science or other applicable technical certifications.
  • 3+ years working as a Systems Engineer.
  • 3+ years experience and tactical knowledge in Azure, Office 365, Cisco UCS, OnBase, Tableau, OKTA, Netscaler, Citrix Hybrid Cloud, Nutanix, Nimble, Cohesity, Vmware, MoveIT, Card Wizard, Windows Server 2016-Current, PowerShell, RHEL 8.
  • 3+ years cloud IaaS management experience.
  • Skillful using technical tools (i.e., Visio) to create detailed documentation and diagrams.
  • Expert knowledge using Group Policy and PowerShell to automate processes.
