As an Operator of the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), you will play a vital role in maintaining the operational readiness of this advanced artillery system. Collaborating with a team of dedicated professionals, your responsibilities will include the setup, operation, and maintenance of MLRS equipment, which provides critical support to ground forces during missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain self-propelled launch platforms
- Reload and supply ammunition vehicles
- Conduct tests and perform maintenance on fire control systems
- Install and configure communication systems across all platforms
Essential Skills
- Strong physical and mental stamina to perform effectively in high-pressure situations

In this position, you will develop valuable skills that are applicable to various civilian professions, including teamwork, discipline, analytical thinking, and leadership. You will also gain expertise in utilizing computer systems for target acquisition and communication purposes.
Training and Development
Rather than incurring training costs, you will be compensated while you learn. By enlisting in the Army National Guard, you can earn a salary during your training and qualify for educational support.
The training program for a Multiple Launch Rocket System Operator consists of a 10-week Basic Training phase, focusing on essential Soldiering skills, followed by a four-week Advanced Individual Training that combines classroom instruction with hands-on field experience.
