The Department of Surgical Sciences at the University of Wisconsin, School of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor position in Small Animal Orthopedic Surgery. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of surgeons, residents, and certified veterinary technicians in the Orthopedic Surgery Section.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical service in the teaching hospital, participating in the care of patients with orthopedic conditions.
- Participate in clinical and didactic teaching of veterinary students, residents, and interns, developing and delivering lectures and laboratory sessions.
- Pursue clinical research, developing and implementing studies to advance the field of small animal orthopedic surgery.
- Contribute to the development of the Orthopedic Surgery Section, participating in section meetings and contributing to the creation of educational materials.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
- Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) or board-eligible.
- Experience in small animal orthopedic surgery, with a strong background in clinical and didactic teaching.
- Ability to develop and implement clinical research studies, with a focus on advancing the field of small animal orthopedic surgery.
