Job Summary

The Nuclear Medicine Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the delivery and quality of imaging services in the Nuclear Medicine department. This includes ensuring timely and accurate completion of exams, maintaining adequate staffing levels, and promoting a culture of service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the delivery of imaging services, ensuring compliance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels, supplies, and resources are available to meet clinical demands.
  • Interview, counsel, and complete performance evaluations for staff members.
  • Train new staff and ensure all registrations and certifications are current and up-to-date.
  • Partner with management to develop and implement policies, procedures, and goals that align with department and system objectives.
  • Act as a liaison between the Nuclear Medicine department and other medical departments to gather and exchange information, develop solutions to problems, and promote effective communication.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory organizations, such as The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the Texas Department of Health (TDH).
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • 3 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine Technology, preferably with hospital experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Medical Radiologic Tech (MRT) certification from the Texas Medical Board required.
  • ARRT-NM or CNMT certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) required.
