Are you ready to support dedicated individuals in navigating their healthcare reimbursement?

We are seeking a skilled Data Insights Analyst to join our team, reporting directly to the Director of Product Management & Analytics. In this role, you will leverage advanced SQL techniques and a comprehensive understanding of databases to extract and analyze essential data elements, ultimately enhancing the precision of our outreach efforts. Your expertise will be crucial in addressing key business inquiries related to the San Francisco Medical Reimbursement Account (SF MRA) program. Utilizing your Tableau proficiency, you will design dashboards that provide valuable insights into various facets of our initiatives. A solid grasp of relational databases, the capability to articulate detailed business requirements, and meticulous attention to detail for verifying data accuracy are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with colleagues across different levels of data comprehension within the business sector, as well as collaborate with fellow Insights & Analytics team members and data engineers to gather business requirements.
  • Familiarize yourself with the diverse datamart tables and fields that contain information about our programs, combining this knowledge with your understanding of relational databases to draft precise requirements and compare new datasets with existing ones.
  • Write moderately complex SQL queries clearly and understandably, enabling swift data extraction and manipulation to address business questions effectively. This includes:
    • Utilizing appropriate joins
    • Transforming data from long to wide format
    • Simplifying intricate queries through temporary tables
    • Employing date functions
  • Convert character variables into dates or monetary values while remaining engaged with complex data challenges until resolution.
  • Review both your work and that of others to identify and rectify both obvious and subtle errors.
  • Gain insights into our programs to apply this knowledge in developing Tableau Dashboards that deliver significant insights to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Enhance core data analysis skills to tackle more demanding tasks using a wider range of data tools.
  • Promote an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and approaches to better serve our staff, members, and providers.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a SQL Data Analyst, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • At least 3 years of experience with additional data tools such as MS Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Stata, R, or Python.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a talent for formulating and communicating improvement recommendations.
  • Proficient SQL skills for daily data analysis tasks.
  • Understanding of information systems and business processes.
  • Ability to produce precise and accurate work, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues while adhering to deadlines.
  • Capability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
