About the Role

Legent Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical scheduling process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date surgery calendars and schedules.
  • Contact surgical facilities to schedule and post surgeries, ensuring timely and efficient use of provider time.
  • Review, complete, and file consent forms and ABNs, verifying that all necessary documentation is stored in the electronic medical record.
  • Follow up on cancelled surgeries to reschedule and minimize disruptions to the surgical schedule.
  • Verify patient coverage and coordinate with the HEA Surgery Interview department to ensure seamless communication.
  • Understand the urgency of surgery and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Verify completion of consents with patient signature, witness signature, and date, and confirm storage in the electronic medical record.
  • Complete pre-op phone calls with patients to verify arrival date and time, what to bring, and to be NPO.
  • Address surgery billing and problem resolution in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Update and maintain patient instruction handouts to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Take proactive measures to reduce surgery cancellations and optimize the surgical schedule.
Requirements
  • 1 year of surgery scheduling experience.
  • 1 year of medical office experience.
  • 1 year of customer service experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
