Job Overview

Position Title: Program Manager for Phase I


Role Summary: The Program Manager for Phase I plays a crucial role in the orchestration, strategizing, and execution of the program's framework for Phase I. This position includes oversight of the Motivational Track Coordinator, assistant personnel, and volunteers.


Qualifications: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Preferred qualifications include college coursework or CADC certification. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree. Candidates in recovery must demonstrate 2 years of continuous sobriety and active participation in a recovery program. Familiarity with issues affecting women (such as parenting, mental health, domestic violence, etc.) and knowledge of chemical dependency treatment is advantageous. Completion of the 28 written lessons of Recovery Dynamics and/or attendance in Recovery Dynamics training is necessary. A successful criminal background check and drug screening are mandatory.


Work Schedule: Standard hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with potential evening and weekend obligations.


Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the Program Director.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assumes responsibilities of Assistant Staff as needed, including:
    a. Facilitating or assisting in Recovery Dynamics sessions.
    b. Initiating and maintaining client files, including contracts, necessary releases, intake forms, assessments, psychosocial information, progress notes, homework, incident reports, and referrals.
    c. Keeping client documentation current.
    d. Guiding clients through each new phase of the program and reviewing Recovery Dynamics lessons.
    e. Documenting client progress throughout the program.
    f. Monitoring clients' overall health and referring them to health service providers as needed.
    g. Sharing on-call duties.
    h. Performing tasks assigned by the Program Director.
  • Coordinates, plans, and executes the program content for Phase I, facilitates community meetings, secures external speakers for open classes, provides counseling to clients, maintains connections with the AA/NA community, and tracks client progress.
  • Supervises the Motivational Track Coordinator and offers guidance on MT Program content.
  • Provides support and consultation on Phase II Program content.
  • Oversees Assistant Staff and volunteers, developing orientation materials, performance guidelines, and job responsibilities.
  • Conducts open classes.
  • Collaborates with other Program Coordinators and Case Managers in program development and client consultations, providing counseling, feedback, and education.
  • Serves as a member of the Management Team, fostering a supportive environment for all clients.
  • Participates in treatment team discussions.
  • Acts in the capacity of the Program Director during their absence.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities as directed by the Program Director.
  • Coordinates Transitional Ceremonies and Life Skills training.
  • Engages in scheduled training sessions and meetings.
  • Responds promptly to emergencies, making informed decisions and taking appropriate actions in line with established protocols.
  • Demonstrates effective collaboration with team members and the ability to work independently when required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping, standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License and maintenance of a safe driving record.

Work Environment:

The work environment may involve outdoor conditions and can be off-site from the usual office location. The noise level may vary from moderate to loud.


Job Hazards:

  • Work hours are typically structured but may require flexibility based on program needs.
  • Potential exposure to blood or infectious materials during routine tasks.
  • Mandatory participation in annual training on infection control and safety protocols.
  • New staff must complete training on managing physical and verbal threats.
  • Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is required within one month of employment for those providing direct care.
