Job Title: Peer Mentor Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Peer Mentor Coordinator is a vital member of our team, responsible for supervising the Peer Mentor Team and ensuring the success of our clients. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of behavioral health concepts and crisis intervention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support the Peer Mentor Team in their roles and responsibilities.
  • Develop and implement training programs for Peer Mentors, focusing on crisis intervention, behavioral health concepts, and effective communication.
  • Collaborate with other program coordinators and case managers to ensure seamless client support and services.
  • Provide counseling, feedback, and education to clients, working closely with the management team to create a nurturing environment.
  • Participate in treatment team discussions and contribute to the development of client care plans.
  • Respond to emergency situations in a timely and effective manner, making decisions quickly and taking action to ensure client safety.
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of continuous sobriety and working an active recovery program (if in recovery).
  • Familiarity with women's issues and chemical dependency treatment (preferred).
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, tact, diplomacy, and compassion in problem-solving and crisis situations.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Ability to complete record-keeping accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health concepts and crisis intervention.
  • Clinical expertise in crisis intervention and resolution.

Work Environment:

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with moderate to loud noise levels. The position may involve working outside of regular office hours, including evenings and weekends. A valid driver's license and safe driving record are required, as well as the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
