Job Description

Southland Transportation is a leading transportation company in the South East, offering a dynamic and fast-paced work environment with opportunities for growth and training. We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Account Manager to join our team in our Boonville, NC logistics office. This role will work closely with our business development team to optimize customer service by managing business relationships and workflow around prioritized activated accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Qualify opportunities associated with new and existing customer leads.
  • Analyze internal and external data to prioritize opportunities.
  • Consistently solicit business from the customer base on a regular schedule.
  • Interact with customers via various channels to provide support and information on products or services.
  • Collect and build load orders in our transportation management software.
  • Communicate service expectations and standards to clients.
  • Author price quotes and communicate that information to the customer.
  • Resolve customers' problems and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain customer accounts and records of customer interactions.
  • Communicate with Operations and Business Development departments to identify internal requirements.
  • Identify and adapt products and features to suit unique customer service needs.
  • Manage active loads in progress to provide proactive communication to business partners.
  • Develop a regular outreach schedule for assigned accounts.
  • Track customer response for weekly reports.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with at least one year of experience in the transportation and logistics industry. A qualified knowledge of the pricing and quoting process for a customer base is also required.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum), Associates Degree or higher (preferred).
  • 40 Hour Work Week - 8AM-5PM Monday through Friday.
  • Competitive Base salary + Commission (waiting period will apply).
