  • Supervise accounting functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Supervise accounting specialists and analysts, providing guidance and coaching to ensure they meet their responsibilities
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of a team of accounting professionals

  • Communicate and foster department vision for the future
  • Assist in building customer solutions and recognize the span of choices to solve most needs
  • Model and foster customer service, H-E-B culture, and department vision and strategy
  • Drive process improvement initiatives within the department
  • Supervise the creation and/or maintenance of supplier information and department accounting controls
  • Prepare and review financial reports and analyses
  • Participate in financial software system testing and implementation
  • Ensure preparation and accuracy of critical reports
  • Understand accounting specialist/analyst tasks to assist, troubleshoot, and problem-solve
  • Provide expertise to department teams and participate in cross-departmental initiatives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or a related field
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and regulatory accounting practices
  • Advanced PC, MS Office, and software skills
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Ability to coach and develop others
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and quickly shift focus
  • Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships at all levels of management and Partners
