About the Role

The Metropolitan Transportation Commission is seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the toll lanes IT infrastructure. This position will be responsible for managing a team of IT staff, developing information systems and security frameworks, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the tolling data network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Manage IT Staff: Oversee the work of IT staff responsible for operating the tolling data network, ensuring that systems are running efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop Information Systems and Security Frameworks: Develop and implement information systems and security frameworks to ensure the integrity and security of the tolling data network.
  • Coordinate with Stakeholders: Coordinate with stakeholders, including Toll System Integrators, Bridge and Express Lanes Program Management Teams, local partner agencies, and managed services providers, to ensure that the tolling data network is operating effectively.
  • Manage Operating and Capital Budgets: Manage operating and capital budgets for separate IT functional areas, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively.
  • Manage IT Services and Procurements: Manage IT services, software, and hardware procurements, ensuring that the best value is obtained for the Commission.
  • Oversee Internal and Third-Party Audits: Oversee internal and third-party audits of IT system controls, ensuring that systems are secure and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Information Systems and Security Technologies: Possess knowledge of information systems and security technologies, including cloud computing, system controls and auditing, networks, servers, and data storage.
  • Technical Program Management: Possess strong technical program management skills, including coordinating with cross-functional, matrixed organizations.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Problem-Solving and Procurement: Possess strong problem-solving and procurement skills, including the ability to develop procurements, negotiate contracts, and resolve contract disputes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Information Systems or Equivalent Experience: Possess a Masters degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management Certification: Possess a project management certification.
  • IT Experience: Possess at least five years of IT experience, including at least two years in a managerial or project management role.
