Role Summary:
We are in search of a meticulous and seasoned Procurement Specialist to enhance our operational team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the procurement of products and services essential for our operations. You will engage with various departments to assess their procurement requirements, scout potential suppliers, negotiate purchasing contracts, and guarantee prompt deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and nurture supplier relationships; swiftly address any supplier-related issues.
  • Conduct data entry and uphold precise records of purchases, expenses, credit card reconciliations, and other critical data utilizing procurement software.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services.
  • Regularly communicate with suppliers through phone and email; follow up on pending orders and expedite deliveries as needed.
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure appropriate storage and timely distribution of products.
  • Act as the procurement agent for our facility, which includes:
    • Processing approved purchase requests
    • Direct engagement with vendors
    • Researching pricing and part availability
    • Ensuring effective tracking and delivery
    • Providing immediate procurement support from local suppliers
    • Completing and processing necessary documentation - including SSJs, PO Request Forms, New Vendor Setup Forms, vendor Quotes, etc.
    • Reconciling all invoicing and purchasing activities
  • Logistics Coordination:
    • Providing comprehensive logistics support for all facility projects, including the relocation of hardware, parts, robotics, consumables, hazardous materials, work surfaces, furniture, containers, and shipping hardware.
    • Assisting with local logistics, including the pickup and drop-off of hardware and parts to local industrial service providers.
  • Interface with service providers, collaborating directly with vendors and service providers.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Procurement Specialist or in a comparable procurement role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of procurement processes, policies, and systems.
  • Exceptional negotiation and networking capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with superior organizational abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Demonstrated initiative and drive for success.
  • Must meet fitness for duty requirements, including passing drug tests and background checks.

Physical Requirements:

  • Full body mobility, capable of twisting, turning, bending at the waist, squatting, and navigating stairs.
  • Able to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods.
  • Able to move around the facility to collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to use hands for handling, reaching, talking, and hearing.
  • Job duties may require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
