We are seeking a highly skilled Crisis Stabilization Specialist to provide short-term crisis intervention services to adults in need of support.

Job Summary

This is a community-based support role that requires meeting directly with adults requiring crisis stabilization. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing crisis intervention services and have a strong therapeutic relationship with clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide crisis stabilization services to adults at imminent risk of hospitalization and out of home placement.
  • Develop a therapeutic relationship with clients to encourage response in treatment and foster the development of goals directly related to the client's Individualized Service Plan (ISP).
  • Link clients to necessary outpatient treatment providers, including outpatient counseling, medication management, and group counseling.
  • Implement safety plans based on client need to ensure safety in the current environment while assessing and assisting in alleviating high-risk behaviors.
  • Provide maximum and accurate billable case management services per the ISP to Crisis clients who are deemed eligible for services.
  • Maintain up-to-date client documentation and prepare timely and accurate reports according to internal policies, procedures, and protocol.
Requirements
  • Licensed or registered as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) by the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Health Professions.
  • Cannot be employed with multiple Community Based agencies.
  • Must have and continue to receive training in the characteristics of mental illness and appropriate interventions, training strategies, and support methods for persons with mental illness and functional limitations.
