Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Funeral Director/Embalmer to join our team at Service Corporation International. As a Funeral Director/Embalmer, you will be responsible for facilitating funeral arrangements, conducting visitations and funerals, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate funeral arrangements with deceased next of kin, including discussing needs and summarizing desired outcomes.
  • Preside over visitations, funerals, and graveside services, ensuring a professional and organized experience for families.
  • Conduct embalming procedures, adhering to company processes and procedures, and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Review and authorize merchandise and service contract revisions.
  • Collaborate with peers and manager to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
Requirements
  • Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science.
  • Current Funeral Director and Embalmer dual license within the practicing state.
  • Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Industry experience preferred.

Work Environment

Work is both indoors and outdoors during all seasons and weather. Professional business attire required when in contact with families.

Frequent, continuous periods of time sitting or standing, up to 6 hours per day. Frequent climbing stairs to access buildings frequently.

Physical effort requiring manual dexterity, including paperwork, calculators, computers, and phone usage. Ability to push and pull up to 150 pounds on flat and inclined flooring or ramps.
