The Underwriting Support Specialist is responsible for assessing new and renewal policies and applications to ensure they align with the Company's standards for acceptability and profitability.

This role involves receiving, documenting, and allocating new underwriting submissions to Underwriters, as well as assisting them with both new and renewal accounts by inputting data into rating software.

This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangements following the completion of training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and document new business submissions into the underwriting system.

- Determine the appropriate underwriter for each risk based on various factors, including territory and agency, and assign the risk accordingly.

- Identify and assess the correct classification of risk, entering data into rating software for underwriter evaluation of new business submissions.

- Analyze inspection reports, motor vehicle records, loss data, audits, and other relevant information to evaluate risk levels and suggest improvements or terminations as necessary.

- Collaborate with Company Underwriters and Agents to provide quotes, instructions, and obtain necessary underwriting information and signed documents.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED, with two years of college or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in personal computer software, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Basic understanding of insurance terminology.
- Excellent customer service skills.
