Metro Aviation, Inc. is in search of an A&P Aviation Maintenance Specialist to join our dedicated team. This role is crucial for ensuring the operational integrity of our aircraft within the Guardian Air Transport program.

Job Responsibilities

The A&P Aviation Maintenance Specialist is responsible for maintaining company aircraft in compliance with all regulatory standards and internal policies. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating closely with the A&P Lead Technician to provide updates on aircraft status and anticipated maintenance downtime.
  • Conducting thorough inspections, modifications, and repairs on aircraft components, including airframes, engines, and propellers, following established procedures and regulations.
  • Coordinating maintenance schedules with the Lead Technician, considering workflow, equipment location, and resource availability.
  • Engaging with pilots and clinical teams upon arrival to discuss aircraft conditions.
  • Upholding the field base to meet company standards.
  • Taking full responsibility for each aircraft assigned to your care.
  • Managing inventory requests and maintaining accurate records of materials used.
  • Ensuring the upkeep of local Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
  • Completing and maintaining all necessary documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Performing inspections on incoming parts and materials.
  • Monitoring the expiration of shelf-life limited parts.
  • Requesting secondary maintenance checks as necessary.
  • Keeping track of calibrated tools and ensuring they are up to date.
  • Executing additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Expertise in aircraft maintenance, inspection, and repair.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations and operational manuals.
  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with turbine rotorcraft or airplanes.
Required Certifications
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to climb heights and work in various environmental conditions.
  • Vision sufficient to perform essential job functions safely.
  • Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
Work Environment
  • Indoor and outdoor settings with varying temperatures.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Moderate to high noise levels.
