The A&P Hangar Based Aviation Maintenance Technician is responsible for:
- Maintaining communication with the Lead Aviation Maintenance Technician to provide updates on aircraft status and anticipated downtime.
- Conducting maintenance tasks such as inspections, modifications, and repairs in accordance with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Coordinating maintenance schedules with the Lead AMT, considering workflow and resource availability.
- Engaging with pilots and clinical crew regarding aircraft conditions upon arrival.
- Ensuring compliance with company standards in maintaining the field base.
- Taking ownership of assigned aircraft and managing inventory requests and reports.
- Maintaining local Ground Support Equipment.
- Completing necessary documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
- Inspecting incoming parts and materials for compliance.
- Requesting Secondary Maintenance Checks as needed.
- Keeping tools calibrated and documented.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in aircraft maintenance and repair.
- Comprehensive understanding of FARS and operational manuals.
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate is mandatory.
- Inspection Authorization and/or FAR 135 experience is advantageous.
- A minimum of three years of experience with turbine rotorcraft or airplanes is required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, lifting, and climbing.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to work in various environmental conditions.
- Indoor and outdoor settings with potential exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Possible exposure to hazardous materials.
- Moderate to loud noise levels.
- Full-time position with varying schedules.
- On-call duties and overtime may be required based on workload.
