About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our patient access team, you will play a critical role in ensuring a positive experience for our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Register patients, obtain demographic and insurance information, and verify insurance coverage.
  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate cancellations, reschedules, and additions to schedules.
  • Update insurance, financial responsibility, and other data when changes or additions occur, and communicate with patients as appropriate.
  • Ensure accurate and complete patient information, applying knowledge of government and third-party payer requirements.
  • Identify, report, and resolve problems regarding registration to appropriate individuals and departments.
  • Monitor patient flow to ensure efficient and courteous care.
  • Perform visit closure, including checking out patients after visits, scheduling follow-up appointments, and providing patients with a visit summary.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • No experience required, but excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office or similar applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
