Environmental Planner Opportunity

Hardesty and Hanover is seeking an experienced Environmental Planner to join our team in either our New York City or Rye, NY offices. As an Environmental Planner, you will work closely with our teams to support the development of comprehensive plans, zoning analyses, and infrastructure decisions while addressing environmental, social, and economic effects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare planning analyses, including those associated with environmental review, climate action, equity, and Environmental Justice
  • Collect and organize raw data, which may include research, interviews with government agencies, map reviews, and field investigations
  • Prepare graphics and reports
  • Support traffic analyses
  • Support public involvement activities
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in planning or related field
  • Five+ years of experience in environmental planning or related field
  • Knowledge of Federal and New York environmental policy, including environmental review, climate action, and Environmental Justice
  • Expertise in ecology, endangered/threatened species, cultural/historic resources, and wetlands a plus
  • Technical proficiency: MS Office, ArcGIS, Adobe Illustrator, and InDesign. AutoCAD is a plus
  • Strong writing and communication skills
