Job Summary:

HARDESTY & HANOVER is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Planner to join our team. As an Environmental Planner, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of comprehensive plans, zoning analyses, and infrastructure decisions while addressing environmental, social, and economic effects.

About the Role:

  • Prepare planning analyses, including those associated with environmental review, climate action, equity, and Environmental Justice.
  • Collect and organize raw data, which may include research, interviews with government agencies, map reviews, and field investigations.
  • Prepare graphics and reports.
  • Support traffic analyses.
  • Support public involvement activities.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in planning or a related field.
  • Five+ years of experience in environmental planning or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Federal and New York environmental policy, including environmental review, climate action, and Environmental Justice.
  • Expertise in ecology, endangered/threatened species, cultural/historic resources, and wetlands a plus.
  • Technical proficiency: MS Office, ArcGIS, Adobe Illustrator, and InDesign. AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
