The Sanitation and Maintenance Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring the daily maintenance and housekeeping of our facility meet American Institute of Baking (AIB) and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) standards. This position is responsible for performing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual cleaning and inspections, maintaining janitorial/sanitation records, and assisting with building maintenance as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual cleaning and inspections to ensure compliance with AIB/SQF standards.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of cleaning and inspection schedules and results.
- Assist with building maintenance tasks, including repairs and replacements, as needed.
- Participate in AIB/SQF inspections and provide support to supervision/management or SQF practitioners as required.
- Inspect equipment and supplies, including debris blower/vacuum, scrubber, power-washer, snow plow/blower, pallet jack, and forklift, to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Load and unload supplies, record and verify inventory, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Two to three (2-3) years of sanitation experience.
- AIB/SQF experience and knowledge of standards and regulations.
- Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, debris blower/vacuum, scrubber, power-washer, and snow plow/blower.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write legibly and communicate effectively in a professional and positive manner.
- Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
APL Logistics offers a competitive hourly wage of $20.50, plus shift differential, and a comprehensive benefits package, including PTO, sick time, paid holidays, company bonus plan, 401(K) SAVE Plan, annual fixed contribution, medical, dental, vision, and life & disability coverage, voluntary benefits, tuition reimbursement, and student loan assistance.
