Sanitation District Maintenance and Operations Senior Technician

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of technical expertise and leadership skills. As a Sanitation District Maintenance and Operations Senior Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of underground pipelines, pump and lift stations, and other infrastructure related to the wastewater collection system.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of technicians in the maintenance and repair of underground pipelines, pump and lift stations, and other infrastructure related to the wastewater collection system.
- Develop and implement maintenance and repair plans to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the wastewater collection system.
- Conduct inspections and tests to identify potential issues and develop solutions to prevent system failures.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that maintenance and repair activities are coordinated and effective.
- Provide training and guidance to junior technicians to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Develop and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, inventory, and other relevant data.
- Two years of experience in a related field, such as wastewater treatment or maintenance and repair.
- Grade 2 California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Collection System Maintenance Certification.
- Ability to lead a team and provide guidance and training to junior technicians.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Valid California Driver License, Class B or higher.
This role requires the ability to work in a variety of environments, including outdoors in all weather conditions, in confined spaces, and in areas with hazardous materials. The successful candidate must be able to lift, carry, and move heavy objects, and work at heights and in tight spaces.
