Position Overview:

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering engineering and consulting solutions across a diverse range of projects and clientele.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and conduct field investigations, engineering assessments, calculations, and provide informed recommendations.
  • Design and develop comprehensive plans and specifications, ensuring adherence to project standards.
  • Review and inspect construction activities to guarantee compliance with established plans and specifications.
  • Prepare detailed proposals and cost estimates, while monitoring project progress and budgets, suggesting necessary adjustments.
  • Research and troubleshoot design and construction challenges, ensuring effective resolutions.
  • Assign, review, and assess laboratory or field data for inclusion in technical reports.
  • Utilize sound engineering principles to effectively communicate complex issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide services for both existing and proposed projects in various sectors including public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and standards across all projects.
  • Participate in pre-task planning and report any safety concerns to management.
  • Maintain high-quality standards throughout all project phases.
  • Manage and execute smaller projects with minimal complexity.
  • Assist in defining the scope of work for routine assignments.
  • Contribute to the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, and related project documentation.
  • Analyze data and perform engineering calculations for review by a Professional Engineer.
  • Conduct, coordinate, or supervise field investigations and laboratory testing.
  • Develop detailed plans and schedules for assigned project phases.
  • Collaborate closely with senior project managers and Professional Engineers to enhance project management and engineering expertise.
  • Make design recommendations for consideration by senior professionals.
  • Prepare work scopes, proposals, and reports, and plan investigations for senior-level approval.
  • May oversee field staff including graduate engineers, technicians, and support personnel.
  • Engage with clients and project teams to define service scopes and communicate project advancements.
  • Work under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Geotechnical or Civil).
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) certification is required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a satisfactory violation history.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer certification is preferred.
