Responsibilities:

* Develop detailed drawings of custom homes, including floor plans, elevations, and construction details.
* Work closely with architects, engineers, and designers to understand project requirements and translate concepts into technical drawings.
* Ensure that all drawings comply with relevant building codes and regulations.
* Proficiently use CAD software (such as AutoCAD or Revit) to produce accurate and high-quality drawings.
* Incorporate feedback and make revisions to drawings as necessary throughout the design and construction process.
* Keep comprehensive records of all drawings and revisions to ensure accuracy and accountability.
* Communicate effectively with the construction team to address any issues or questions related to the drawings.
* Keep abreast of industry trends, new CAD technologies, and best practices to enhance design efficiency and quality.
* Identify and resolve design-related problems or discrepancies during the construction phase.
* Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications:

* A degree in drafting, engineering, architecture, or a related field is preferred.
* Previous experience in CAD drafting, preferably in the construction or architectural industry (+3 years).
* A strong portfolio showcasing previous CAD drafting work, particularly related to residential construction or custom home design.
* Extensive experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp.
* Ability to create detailed 2D and 3D drawings of architectural designs, floor plans, and construction documents.
* Understanding of local and national building codes and regulations.
* Familiarity with construction industry standards and best practices.
* Knowledge of architectural design principles and construction techniques.
* Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
* Willingness to learn new software and technologies as they are adopted in the industry.
* Ability to adapt to evolving design and construction practices.
* Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in drawings and specifications.
* Ability to identify and resolve potential design issues.
* Good communication skills to collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
* Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
* Aptitude for solving design and technical problems.
* Ability to adapt to changes and find creative solutions.

Compensation and benefits:

* Full Time
* Starting salary at $30.00 per hour, depending on experience
* 2 Weeks paid vacation with increase of 1 day per year with a capped paid vacation of 3 weeks
