Sr Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

The Sr Environmental Health and Safety Engineer is a key professional responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. This role involves analyzing and developing recommendations for various projects, managing the environmental, health, and safety program, and providing training and consulting support. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental engineering, sciences, or physical sciences, and will possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. They will also have the ability to lead projects and work effectively in a diverse working environment. Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring all environmental, health, and safety procedures and plans are current and being followed. • Conduct field inspections, audit work records, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations. • Prepare compliance reports for submission to regulatory agencies and maintain accurate records. • Develop and implement training programs, including safety and orientation training. • Lead and track wellness programs, safety committees, and workgroup safety meetings. • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned. Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental sciences, or physical sciences. • Six years of related work experience in environmental and safety compliance. • Completion of HAZWOPER training, OSHA 511 Basic Course in General Industry, and/or OSHA 501 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety & Health Standards for General Industry preferred. • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. • Ability to lead projects and work effectively in a diverse working environment. • Computer skills, including competency with spreadsheets, word processors, and presentation tools. • Project management skills, including prioritizing and handling multiple tasks and projects concurrently. • Valid driver's license and possession of professional registration or certification a plus.
