Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team at Retina Consultants of Carolina PA. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering high-quality eye care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preliminary testing and examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating eye conditions
  • Document patient medical history and chief complaints accurately and efficiently
  • Oversee patient flow and prepare patients for procedures
  • Scribe for physicians during exams and procedures
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of ophthalmic procedures and techniques
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in the medical field; ophthalmology experience a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records
Preferred Qualifications
  • Visual acuity testing and pupillometry screening experience
  • Tonometry testing and reading skills
  • Ocular motility examinations and ocular photography techniques
