We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team at Retina Consultants of Carolina PA. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering high-quality eye care services.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preliminary testing and examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating eye conditions
- Document patient medical history and chief complaints accurately and efficiently
- Oversee patient flow and prepare patients for procedures
- Scribe for physicians during exams and procedures
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of ophthalmic procedures and techniques
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- At least 1 year of experience in the medical field; ophthalmology experience a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records
- Visual acuity testing and pupillometry screening experience
- Tonometry testing and reading skills
- Ocular motility examinations and ocular photography techniques
