Job Title: Ophthalmic Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team at Retina Consultants of Carolina. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preliminary testing and examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating eye conditions.
  • Document patient medical history and chief complaints accurately and efficiently.
  • Oversee patient flow and prepare patients for procedures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience.
  • Scribe for physicians during exams and procedures, taking detailed notes and maintaining accurate records.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the medical field, preferably in ophthalmology.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Visual acuity testing and pupillometry screening experience.
  • Tonometry testing and reading skills.
  • Ocular motility examinations and working knowledge of ocular photography techniques (OCT, Fundus, etc.).
