Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Food Service Worker to join our team as a Dining Room Service Assistant. This part-time position will be based in Providence, RI, and will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operations of food service for patients, families, visitors, and staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and plate food in an attractive and appealing manner, adhering to time and temperature parameters.
  • Check daily patient menus with current diet orders and set up trays with condiments and dishes appropriate for the food items being served.
  • Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of the kitchen and serving area, including washing dishes after each meal and as needed.
  • Provide service to customers for retail sales in the dining area and check Nurses' station and re-stock necessary food items as necessary.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions by thoroughly cleaning work area and equipment in the kitchen, per daily, weekly, and monthly printed schedule.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in commercial food preparation and creation service, including following recipes and the ability to breakdown ingredients to increase/decrease the amounts needed
  • SERV Safe Food Safety Certification Required
