Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Operations Manager to join our team at Manatee Memorial Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the ER Holds and supplemental staffing programs, as well as assisting with leadership duties over House Nursing Supervisors, Staffing Coordinators, Patient Flow Coordinator, Vascular Access Team, Dialysis, Wound Care, Cardiac Rehab, and various supplemental staffing programs.
Key Responsibilities- Manage ER Holds and supplemental staffing programs to ensure seamless patient care and efficient resource allocation.
- Collaborate with various departments to facilitate patient flow and optimize resource utilization.
- Forecast current and future staffing needs and work with nursing leadership to design and execute recruitment and retention initiatives.
- Anticipate patient capacity requirements and maximize or compress patient capacity to accommodate patients while maintaining favorable productivity.
- Assist with coordinating admissions and transfers in accordance with clinical standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other Nursing Managers and Directors to ensure effective and efficient patient placement and optimal allocation of resources.
- Monitor and manage nursing productivity to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Assist with position control and position allocation information to ensure availability of resources.
- Administer the automated staffing and scheduling system and patient placement system.
- BSN degree required.
- MSN degree preferred; MBA or other health-related master's degree considered.
- Current Florida State RN license.
- Current BLS through American Heart Association.
- Current ACLS through American Heart Association.
- 3 years of progressive management experience required.
