Job Summary

Ellie Mental Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Addiction Specialist Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with clients, families, and external referral sources to provide comprehensive addiction assessments, individualized and group therapy services, and education and support to enhance their understanding of addiction, recovery, and relapse prevention strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Establish a diagnosis and develop a personalized treatment plan for clients with substance use disorders.
  • Deliver Evidence-Based Interventions: Provide individualized and group therapy services to clients, focusing on evidence-based interventions that engage and motivate clients throughout their recovery process.
  • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Team: Work with psychiatrists, medical personnel, and other addiction treatment professionals to provide coordinated and holistic care.
  • Update Treatment Plans and Maintain Accurate Documentation: Regularly update treatment plans and maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, assessments, and reviews of treatment efficacy.
  • Provide Education and Support: Educate and support clients and their families, enhancing their understanding of addiction, recovery, and relapse prevention strategies.
  • Work with External Referral Sources: Collaborate with external referral sources and community partners to ensure continuity of care for clients transitioning in and out of treatment programs.
  • Participate in Clinical Team Meetings and Supervision: Participate in regular clinical team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development opportunities to continuously improve client care.
  • Create a Supportive Therapeutic Environment: Create a supportive therapeutic environment that acknowledges the unique cultural, social, and psychological needs of each client.
Qualifications
  • Education and Certification: Associates, Bachelors, or Masters degree in a human services field from an accredited institution, CASAC-T certification or the equivalent certification in addiction counseling, and QHP (Qualified Health Professional) certification through the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS).
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in the field of chemical dependency or completion of a clinical internship specializing in substance use disorders.
  • Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic, nonjudgmental, and evidence-based care to clients dealing with substance use issues, strong organizational skills with attention to detail, and the ability to handle a moderate caseload.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in the use of Office 365 and EHR systems, with the ability to maintain thorough and accurate client records.
