Addiction Specialist Therapist - Ellie Mental Health (Larchmont, NY)
Job Summary
Ellie Mental Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Addiction Specialist Therapist who is passionate about helping individuals overcome substance use challenges. Youll work within a collaborative team environment that supports individuals on their journey to recovery. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive addiction assessments to establish a diagnosis and develop a personalized treatment plan for clients with substance use disorders.
- Deliver individualized and group therapy services to clients, focusing on evidence-based interventions that engage and motivate clients throughout their recovery process.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, medical personnel, and other addiction treatment professionals to provide coordinated and holistic care.
- Regularly update treatment plans and maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, assessments, and reviews of treatment efficacy.
- Provide education and support to clients and their families, enhancing their understanding of addiction, recovery, and relapse prevention strategies.
- Work with external referral sources and community partners to ensure continuity of care for clients transitioning in and out of treatment programs.
- Participate in regular clinical team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development opportunities to continuously improve client care.
- Create a supportive therapeutic environment that acknowledges the unique cultural, social, and psychological needs of each client.
- This role leverages in-person and telehealth care, allowing for flexibility in meeting the needs of our clients where they are most comfortable.
- Associates, Bachelors, or Masters degree in a human services field from an accredited institution.
- CASAC-T certification or the equivalent certification in addiction counseling.
- A minimum of one year of experience in the field of chemical dependency or completion of a clinical internship specializing in substance use disorders.
- QHP (Qualified Health Professional) certification through the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS).
- Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic, nonjudgmental, and evidence-based care to clients dealing with substance use issues.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to handle a moderate caseload.
- Proficiency in the use of Office 365 and EHR systems, with the ability to maintain thorough and accurate client records.
- Physical requirements: Primarily sedentary work involving sitting, with occasional walking or standing, and the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
