Role Summary

Ellie Mental Health is in search of a committed and empathetic Addiction Specialist Therapist dedicated to assisting individuals in overcoming challenges related to substance use. Key Duties
  • Perform thorough assessments to diagnose and create tailored treatment plans for clients facing substance use disorders.
  • Provide both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices to engage clients in their recovery journey.
  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and medical staff, to ensure comprehensive and integrated care.
  • Regularly revise treatment plans and maintain precise clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment reviews.
  • Educate and support clients and their families, enhancing their understanding of addiction and strategies for relapse prevention.
  • Collaborate with external referral sources and community organizations to facilitate continuity of care for clients transitioning between treatment settings.
  • Engage in regular clinical meetings and professional development to enhance client care practices.
  • Create a nurturing therapeutic atmosphere that respects the diverse cultural, social, and psychological needs of each client.
  • Utilize both in-person and telehealth modalities to accommodate client preferences and needs.
Qualifications
  • Degree in a human services field (Associates, Bachelors, or Masters) from an accredited institution.
  • Certification in addiction counseling (e.g., CASAC-T or equivalent).
  • At least one year of experience in chemical dependency or completion of a clinical internship focused on substance use disorders.
  • Qualified Health Professional (QHP) certification through the relevant state office.
  • Proven ability to deliver compassionate, nonjudgmental, and evidence-based care to clients with substance use challenges.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing a moderate caseload.
  • Familiarity with Office 365 and electronic health record systems, ensuring accurate client documentation.
  • Physical demands include primarily sedentary work with occasional walking or standing, and the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
