Key Duties
- Perform thorough addiction evaluations to establish diagnoses and formulate tailored treatment plans for clients facing substance use disorders.
- Provide both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices that engage and motivate clients throughout their recovery.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and other addiction treatment professionals, to deliver coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Regularly revise treatment plans and maintain precise clinical documentation, including progress notes and assessments.
- Educate and support clients and their families, enhancing their understanding of addiction, recovery, and strategies for relapse prevention.
- Engage with external referral sources and community partners to ensure seamless care for clients transitioning in and out of treatment.
- Participate in routine clinical team meetings and ongoing professional development to enhance client care.
- Create a nurturing therapeutic environment that recognizes the unique cultural, social, and psychological needs of each client.
- Utilize both in-person and telehealth modalities to provide flexible care that meets clients in their preferred settings.
- Degree in a human services field from an accredited institution (Associates, Bachelors, or Masters).
- CASAC-T certification or equivalent in addiction counseling.
- At least one year of experience in chemical dependency or completion of a clinical internship focused on substance use disorders.
- QHP certification through the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS).
- Proven ability to deliver empathetic, nonjudgmental, and evidence-based care to clients dealing with substance use issues.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the capacity to manage a moderate caseload.
- Proficiency in Office 365 and EHR systems, ensuring thorough and accurate client records.
- Physical requirements: Primarily sedentary work involving sitting, with occasional walking or standing, and the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
