About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Curriculum Coordinator to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a key member of our Curriculum team, you will provide administrative support to medical education courses, participate in planning and implementation of programs, and ensure compliance with relevant national organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and disseminate course materials, including syllabi, schedules, and handouts
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, events, and activities for faculty and students
  • Create daily and weekly schedules for faculty and students, ensuring efficient use of time and resources
  • Purchase and reconcile expenses, maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Interact with students, faculty, and staff, providing exceptional customer service and support
  • Ensure compliance with relevant national organizations, such as the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME)
  • Provide quality administrative support to faculty, maintaining high standards of the curriculum
  • Recruit faculty from across the School of Medicine to participate in curricular activities
  • Recruit patients to participate in curricular activities, ensuring informed consent and confidentiality
  • Provide on-site day-of support to courses, ensuring smooth execution and minimal disruptions
  • Enter accurate data and materials in VMED and OASIS, maintaining up-to-date records and reports
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of administrative support experience, with a Bachelor's degree substituting for experience
  • Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, experience working in higher education, academic healthcare institutions, and/or supporting medical education programs/curriculum
  • Proficiency in VMED, OASIS, Zoom, and M365 Suite
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
About the Curriculum

Our innovative Cells to Society curriculum provides a comprehensive approach to medical education, integrating medical science and practice to teach foundational science in the context of how it is used by physicians in their clinical practice. This model emphasizes collaborative team and individual learning, student-faculty interactions, clinical skills education, and clinical problem-solving.

Physical Demands

This is a primarily sedentary role involving extensive use of desktop computers. Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings and programs. This position is fully on-site and requires occasional evening hours.

Compensation

The anticipated hiring range is $20-$23/hour, commensurate with education and experience. This is a non-exempt level, full-time, benefited position.
