CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST - JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within time frames required by company and maintain physical ability to perform CPR/AED in the event of a medical emergency.
  • Must obtain Tanning Certification within time frame required by company.
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Customer Engagement Specialist is responsible for fostering a welcoming atmosphere for members by delivering exceptional customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Welcome members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring outstanding customer service.
  • Manage all front desk operations, including:
    • Answering phone calls in a courteous manner and assisting callers with various inquiries.
    • Checking members into the system.
    • Facilitating new member registrations.
    • Conducting tours for prospective members.
  • Assist with necessary updates to member accounts.
  • Address member inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, escalating to Assistant Manager or Manager as needed.
  • Perform cleaning tasks as required to uphold the cleanliness and organization of the facility.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within time frames required by company and maintain physical ability to perform CPR/AED in the event of a medical emergency.
  • Must obtain Tanning Certification within time frame required by company.

  • Outstanding customer service skills; ability to engage positively and professionally with members and colleagues, exceeding member expectations.

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in an indoor setting; exposure to noise, dust, mechanical and electrical hazards, and cleaning chemicals.

PHYSICAL: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to walk and stand for extended periods; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand movements in the execution of daily tasks; occasionally to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate amounts of weight (up to 50lbs); and to verbally communicate in person or on the phone to exchange information. Must maintain physical ability to administer CPR in the event of a medical emergency.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
