Key Responsibilities of the Nutritional Services Assistant include:

  • Setting up and cleaning dining areas and ensuring meal service is timely.
  • Washing and sanitizing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, as well as maintaining cleanliness in prep areas and dining spaces.
  • Serving meals and beverages to residents and their families, catering to individual preferences.
  • Properly managing food storage, including rotation, labeling, and dating of leftovers.
  • Keeping storage areas organized and sanitary.
  • Adhering to departmental protocols regarding sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedules.
  • Performing additional tasks as directed by the Food & Nutrition Manager or Executive Director.
  • Following established infection control measures and safety procedures.
  • Utilizing kitchen equipment safely and effectively.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stoop, bend, turn, stretch, push, pull, lift, stand, and walk for extended periods, with frequent exposure to varying temperatures and handling of cleaning supplies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 16 years.
  • Willingness to obtain Level 1 Servsafe certification.

Pre-employment Criteria:

  • Completion of a physical examination.
  • Background screening.
  • Mantoux (TB) testing.
