Income Maintenance Caseworker III

We are seeking a highly skilled Income Maintenance Caseworker III to join our team at Bladen County, NC. As a key member of our Social Services department, you will play a critical role in determining the eligibility of applicants and recipients for various government programs and services.
Key Responsibilities- Eligibility Determination: Conduct thorough interviews with clients to determine their eligibility for government programs and services, including Medicaid, food assistance, and shelter.
- Case Management: Provide leadership and guidance to lower-level caseworkers, ensuring that clients receive the necessary support and resources to achieve self-sufficiency.
- Policy Compliance: Interpret and ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, and regulations related to assigned department programs.
- Client Communication: Respond to client inquiries, requests for assistance, and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
- Referral and Coordination: Schedule appointments, interview clients, and determine eligibility for program applicants, as well as refer clients to outside agencies and services as needed.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and complete client records, including data entry and verification for accuracy and completeness.
- Training and Development: Provide training, instruction, and leadership to lower-level caseworkers, as well as participate in ongoing professional development to enhance job knowledge and skills.
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or an Associate's degree in Human Services, Business Administration, Paralegal Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker.
- Experience: Two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills: Thorough knowledge of interviewing skills, policy compliance, and case management, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.
