Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing clinical nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient needs, preferences, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and physical examination.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Monitor and report patient progress, identifying potential complications and taking corrective action as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure clear understanding of patient needs and care plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current state license as Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) complete ACLS training successfully within 6 months of hire.
  • One year of clinical experience as a RN in a perioperative or critical care setting.
  • Three years Surgical Technician experience may substitute for the one year clinical RN experience.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The Registered Nurse must be able to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies, as well as stand for long periods of time. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare team members is essential.
