Key Responsibilities
  • Global Employee and Labor Relations Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive global employee and labor relations strategy that aligns with the organization's mission, values, and legal requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Investigations Management: Lead and conduct complex global investigations into employee relations and labor matters, ensuring thoroughness, confidentiality, and compliance with local laws and regulations. Provide expert guidance on the resolution of such matters.
  • Labor Relations: Oversee labor relations activities, including collective bargaining, union negotiations, and the management of labor agreements, to maintain a positive relationship between the organization and its workforce.
  • Coaching and Development: Provide coaching, training, and development for managers and others on matters of employee relations and problem-solving, and developing and implementing new and revised policies and procedures to change managerial practice in positive ways.
  • Encourage and Promote Early Intervention: Encourage and promote early intervention and mediation to resolve employee and labor relations issues as they arise, including specific advice to, consultation with, and coaching of managers and employees.
  • Manage Complex Situations: Manage complex situations relating to grievances, performance issues, labor disputes, and other workplace conflict issues.
  • Policy Development: Collaborate with HR leadership to develop, update, and enforce global policies and procedures related to employee and labor relations, ensuring they are culturally appropriate and legally compliant.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, HR partners, and managers on employee and labor relations matters, providing insights and recommendations that support organizational goals.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to employee and labor relations, ensuring the organization is proactive in addressing potential issues before they escalate.
  • Global Compliance: Monitor and interpret changes in global labor laws and regulations, ensuring the organization's policies and practices remain compliant and adapt to emerging trends.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in employee and labor relations, with at least 5 years in a global or multi-country role.
  • Extensive experience in conducting and managing global investigations into employee relations and labor matters.
  • In-depth knowledge of global labor laws and regulations, with experience in collective bargaining and union negotiations.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement employee and labor relations strategies in a complex, diverse, and global organization.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • High ethical standards, with a commitment to confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive matters.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail.
