Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer III specializing in Natural Resources to join our dynamic team at RK&K.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage projects focused on environmental compliance and sustainability for transportation clients, including the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and local municipalities.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions that meet client needs while adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Assist with management on multiple projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Conduct environmental assessments, impact studies, and permitting processes related to transportation projects.
  • Assist with technical guidance on natural resource management, including wetlands, streams, and endangered species.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for new project opportunities.
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and other professionals within the organization to deliver high-quality results.
  • Participate in project reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Analyze data related to environmental conditions and project impacts.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for regulatory submissions and client meetings.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to management and clients.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Natural Resource Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or management, specifically related to natural resources and transportation projects.
  • Proven experience working with transportation clients, particularly TDOT and municipal agencies.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
  • Proficient in technical software (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS) and data analysis tools.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
