Job Title: Executive Producer, Streaming

We are seeking an experienced Executive Producer to lead the growth and development of our streaming news product at KMSP-TV.

Job Summary:

The Executive Producer will be responsible for planning and supervising the production of streaming content, including daily news and other programming. This includes collaborating with the digital team and news editorial managers to optimize the presentation of daily news coverage and breaking news coverage on the stream.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plans and supervises production of streaming content, including daily news and other programming.
  • Collaborates with other members of the digital team and news editorial managers to optimize the presentation of daily news coverage and breaking news coverage on the stream.
  • Works with streaming producer/hosts to enhance the presentation of streaming content.
  • Develops expertise in the technology used to produce and deliver streaming content in order to train staff in streaming systems and troubleshoot issues with the stream when required.
  • Serves as producer/host of the station's stream when required.
  • Develops, implements and maintains standards of performance for streaming producer/hosts.
  • Evaluates work performance of streaming producer/hosts.
Requirements:
  • Outstanding leadership skills.
  • Must possess strong language skills, be proficient in English grammar, spelling and punctuation and must be able to utilize conversational broadcast copy style efficiently under daily deadline pressure.
  • Proficiency with video production technology, including non-linear editing and video switching tools.
  • Strong editorial judgment required.
  • Excellent on-camera delivery and communication skills required.
  • A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a related field preferred. Three years of experience in a newsroom at a commercial television station or digital news organization preferred.
