About the Role

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at the Franciscan Medical Clinic - St. Joseph (Family Med) in Tacoma, WA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support to patients under the direction of a physician or mid-level provider.
  • Obtain and record patient vital signs and other information, including height, weight, drug allergies, current medications, and presenting problem.
  • Assist with diagnostic tests and clinical procedures, such as venous and capillary invasive procedures for blood draws, intradermal (including skin tests), subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the provider.
  • Manage patient flow, ensuring enough time for patient and family education.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment and patient care areas clean and orderly.
  • Schedule patient appointments and perform other administrative duties as needed.
  • Participate in continuing education, required meetings, and committees as requested.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) and completion of a Medical Assistant certification program at an accredited institution.
  • One year experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Washington State Certification as a Medical Assistant-Certified.
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification.
