About the Role

BioLife Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results.

The Medical Support Specialist will work under the guidance of the Center Manager and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical or hospital settings, with a current EMT-Paramedic license and CPR/AED certification.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Determining donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion
  • Managing donor adverse events, including evaluating donor reactions and referring to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed
  • Reviewing laboratory test results and notifying donors of unsuitable test results
  • Supporting the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
  • Managing employee incidents and determining whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER

The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry and will follow guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs.

The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment to customer service and quality.
