Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of utility staff, ensuring efficient and effective operation of wastewater treatment facilities and collection systems.
  • Conduct routine laboratory analysis and troubleshoot mechanical and process issues.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and work orders to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Collaborate with utility staff and management to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to new and subordinate staff members.
  • Assist with prioritizing resource needs, coordinating routine and long-term projects, and monitoring work activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, water resources, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of increasingly responsible wastewater operations and maintenance experience, including team lead/supervisory duties.
  • WDNR advanced certification in at least three of the seven required sub-classes (A1, B, C, D, L, P, and SS) with ability to obtain remaining advanced certifications within two years.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and work cooperatively in a team setting.
