Role Overview:
The Environmental Health & Safety Supervisor is tasked with embedding environmental health and safety protocols into business operations while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations for their designated project. This position is project-based and involves direct collaboration with EH&S personnel, Superintendents, Project Managers, Project Executives, and Area/Regional EHS Directors.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience leading safety initiatives on at least one transit, commuter rail, or design-build project.
- Trained in NYC Track Safety.
- A minimum of 90 days of experience working on Right of Way (ROW) with flagging and service diversions.
- Completion of the NYC Department of Building 40-hour Site Safety Managers course (license not required).
- Successful completion of the 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health course.
- Possession and maintenance of a current New York State Department of Labor Asbestos Inspectors License.
- Possession and maintenance of a current C-3 / C-5 Supervisor / Competent Person training for De-leading of Industrial Structures Certificate.
- Active membership in the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).
- Comprehensive knowledge of heavy civil construction processes.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Environmental Health & Safety, or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
