We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Middle School Classroom Aide to join our team at Capital Village PCS.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with middle school students and supporting their academic and social-emotional growth. As a Classroom Aide, you will play a critical role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, while also contributing to the development of our students' skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting teachers in planning and implementing engaging lessons and activities that cater to diverse learning styles;
  • Assisting students with special needs in completing personalized work, monitoring their progress, and providing individualized support as needed;
  • Engaging students in meaningful, authentic, and productive work that allows them to demonstrate mastery of rigorous learning targets;
  • Facilitating specialized elective courses where students can explore their interests and develop new skills;
  • Collaborating with colleagues to create a respectful, collaborative, and growth-minded culture within the classroom and school community.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma, Associate's degree, or 60+ college credits;
  • Experience building relationships with middle school students in a school setting;
  • Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with a diverse team of teachers;
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with drive, passion to innovate, and tolerance of ambiguity required for a startup environment;
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with exceptional problem-solving skills;
  • Familiarity with the DC charter school sector is preferred, but not required;
  • Candidates who are fluent in Spanish or French are encouraged to apply.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer competitive compensation, with an estimated salary range of $20-$25 per hour, depending on experience. Additionally, you will gain hands-on experience and connections in instruction and school reform, develop real-world experience in a start-up organization, and receive personalized professional development with executive leadership as a mentor.
