Middle School Language Arts Educator Position

We are seeking a dedicated Middle School Language Arts Educator to join our team at St. Thomas More Catholic Academy in Washington DC.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position that reports directly to the Principal. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in a grade-specific language arts classroom, utilizing data-driven methods to engage scholars and foster their growth.
Main Responsibilities- Design innovative lessons based on Archdiocese of Washington language arts standards, focusing on developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in scholars.
- Foster an appreciation for literature and encourage scholars to express original ideas through creative assignments and discussions.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and promote collaboration within the classroom, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all scholars.
- Guide scholars' academic, spiritual, and social development through regular assessment and evaluation of their progress.
- Deliver lectures, demonstrations, projects, and discussions that meet or exceed ADW standards.
- Create unit/lesson plans that differentiate and scaffold lessons based on scholar skill and knowledge levels.
- Evaluate and track scholar progress using online gradebooks and communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
- Maintain a safe classroom environment through effective classroom management.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
- Possess strong teaching skills and experience working with middle school students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members to develop cross-curricular learning experiences.
$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
