Hugg & Hall Equipment Company is seeking a skilled individual with mechanical expertise and exceptional customer service abilities to become a part of our team as a Field Service Heavy Equipment Specialist. As a well-established full-service equipment provider, we have been specializing in industrial and construction machinery since 1956.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Field Service Heavy Equipment Specialists are integral members of our Service Team, responsible for the maintenance and repair of various heavy-class equipment owned by both customers and the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and Repair: Address a range of heavy equipment issues at diverse customer sites to restore each unit to operational and safety standards.
  • Effective Communication: Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders, including Sales Representatives, Coordinators, Managers, and Customers regarding potential downtime and updates on job progress.
  • Safety and Efficiency: Operate safely and efficiently with minimal supervision to reduce equipment downtime while adhering to safe working practices both on-site and during the operation of company vehicles.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3 years of mechanical training/education or relevant experience in a similar field
  • Possession or ability to acquire a complete set of tools, including specialized equipment necessary for on-site jobs
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Clean driving history
  • Capability to obtain DOT medical certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational background

SKILLS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Strong communication abilities
  • Capability to read or learn to interpret schematics
  • Ability to perform tasks with precision and punctuality
  • Proficiency in working independently with limited supervision

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role involves:

  • Working in operational facilities and outdoor environments while traveling to customer locations, encountering various weather conditions.
  • Regularly handling equipment with potential hazards, necessitating the use of appropriate safety gear and practices.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently, with occasional lifting of items weighing up to 100 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds.
  • Engaging in activities such as standing, walking, twisting, climbing, and crawling regularly.
  • Performing bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting tasks daily.
  • Driving company vehicles to and from customer sites.
  • Wearing safety glasses and safety footwear as required.
  • Being medically fit to perform all job functions with the utmost safety.
